Matt Brungo Is a Pittsburgh attorney focused on helping Pittsburgh families through difficult times. Matt was raised in Pittsburgh’s northern suburbs. As a child he attended school in Brighton Heights, Ross Township and Wexford. Matt attended Penn State University after graduating from North Allegheny High School.
At Penn State Matt studied Anthropology and was a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. Matt enjoyed living in a college town while at State College and benefited from the campus activities associated with the University. Upon graduation from Penn State Matt moved to Baltimore where he was employed by the Boy Scouts of America. At the Boy Scouts of America Matt’s job focused on fundraising, membership recruitment, volunteer recruitment and volunteer management.
Matt is a graduate from University of Maryland School of Law, located in Baltimore Maryland. Matt was a member of the school’s trial team while in law school. Maryland provided an excellent opportunity for Matt to focus on trial advocacy skills and to interact with trial attorneys and judges while studying law.
Matt returned to Pittsburgh and began to practice law. Matt is the third generation in his family to work in a Pittsburgh based, community focused service profession. Matt continues this family tradition by working with local families and individuals on their legal problems.
Matt works with clients to resolve legal issues involving on Family Law, Real Estate Law, Civil Litigation, and Criminal Defense. Family law cases often involve custody, divorce and support issues; and are difficult times for individuals and their families. Matt has worked with property owners to assist in their landlord/tenant problems, their real estate tax assessments, and in their disputes with contractors. In criminal defense cases, Matt has helped students and young professionals who are charged with criminal offenses. Often the goal in a criminal defense case is to protect the student or young professional’s ability to obtain higher education and employment.
Matt is an assistant coach for Shaler High School’s basketball team. Coaching gives Matt an opportunity to be involved with the community and to have a positive impact on students through the athletic program.
